I Did It Again

For the second time in as many months, I've submitted a story that I pulled out of mothballs that wasn't the story that I'm currently re-working.

It's not that I don't want to submit the story I'm working on, but I keep having ideas that I think make my other stories work better. So I've been spending time working on those stories.

I find that I'm not one of those writers that can knock out a series of stories like clockwork. I also find that another way to get rid of writer's block is to pick up something that I put down a while ago and begin working on it. New ideas sometimes come to mind while working on an old story.

Another thing I've noticed is how tenacious I've become with not giving up on a story. I'll only give up on a story when it becomes painfully obvious to me (after numerous attempts to submit are rejected) that nothing I do will ever make the story palatable for anyone to want to read. Then I move on to my next great idea.
