They Liked It!

They liked it! My story will finally see the light of day. Well, they liked it after they suggested more changes to the ending. The ending I re-wrote still fell short in some areas. Errors and inconsistencies were pointed out. I quickly addressed those issues and will admit that I was a little sloppy with my ending.

I got a little bit careless with my details and consistency, but a third re-write fixed things. The story was finally accepted and has been placed on the official publication schedule. Whew!

I've been working on this story since the spring of 2008. It started out as a class assignment. The short piece I wrote for class was well received and I thought it had potential. So I decided to flesh it out and develop a full story. I sent it out to several publishers until I found one that was willing to consider it.

The final result, after one major re-write and two edits to the ending, is a noir-like story of approximately 3800 words. When it gets published, I'll post a link to it.
